Our subdivision put on an Easter Egg Hunt this morning down at the beach. It was a perfect day to do this (even though it was a little chilly this morning and the grass was a little wet when we first walked down there). Nonetheless, we bundled the girls up in their jackets, grabbed a basket for Sam, and took off to join in the festivities.
... but not before this momma snapped a quick picture of her girls!
Waiting patiently for the egg hunt to begin:
Checking out one of the golden eggs:
And look who decided to join in!
The sisters worked together:
And then sometimes, they just did their own thing!
There were SO many eggs that we ended up emptying Samantha's basket into the back of the stroller. It wasn't long before Sophia discovered that that was where all of the eggs were!
Samantha, opening up one of her eggs:
We also worked on a few crafts while we were down there:
And we enjoyed some snacks, as well:
We then concluded our fun morning with a few minutes on the playground:
After the girls get done with their afternoon naps, we are going to color our Easter eggs, and then get ready for the Easter Bunny to visit our house tonight! Samantha has already chosen our special bedtime story: Peter Rabbit. And it is definitely appropriate for tonight.
I am so excited about all of the holiday traditions that we are starting with our girls. While Sophia is still a little bit young to understand most of them, Samantha is now at the age where she comprehends each of the celebrations. We try to make each holiday last as long as we can, and once it is over, we are already talking about the next one!
