An Upcoming Birthday
Sophia's birthday is a month away, and in typical fashion around here, I have already started the birthday preparations. It is so fun for me to include the kids as much as possible in the party planning. It makes their day even more special for them ...
We will be having an "Olivia the Pig" birthday party to celebrate three years with my spunky, active little girl. There will strawberry cake and strawberry ice cream (Sophia's favorites) and LOTS of red! Olivia the Pig has a book series (and now a TV series) where she uses her imagination and "rules of life" to draw kids in from all ages. She believes that "red is absolutely, positively the best color for everything" and can never have enough costumes, headbands and shoes.
In honor of the big day, we did a little photo shoot to capture a couple of pictures for the invitation and for decorations at the party. Here are a few of the out-takes:
A feather boa can really dress things up!
Sophia received this stuffed Olivia the Pig for Christmas and loves her to pieces.
Another one of Olivia's rules: "Whatever the question is, costumes are always the best answer."
Oh, did I mention that Sophia has a wide range of emotions lately? Yes, this girl of mine can go from happy and giggling to spurting alligator tears in a manner of seconds.
But don't worry -- there is nothing that a couple of fruit snacks won't cure. Two microseconds later ...
... And she's ready for the stage. Cue the cameras!
It's going to be a celebratory month for sure.
