Three years ago, I had tickets to take the girls to see Wicked performed at the Wharton Center on MSU campus. I knew that they would LOVE it, and was definitely disappointed when it was cancelled due to COVID.
As soon as I saw that tickets were available again, I splurged and got us some great seats! We went to lunch first and then the show and both girls were completely amazed.
I saw Wicked at the Wharton Center 15 years ago (when I was pregnant with Samantha), so I was already prepared for the wonder that came with seeing it on the stage. But it was even more special seeing it with the girls. And of course, we came home with souvenirs.

The kids found the monopoly game in the closet and it has been a favorite! They pulled up a small end table in the basement and I find them down there playing every chance they get.

My best friend, Jennifer, came to visit and I surprised her by making a cake for her birthday. I absolutely love decorating cakes and it was fun to make a more sophisticated (raspberry-filled) cake, rather than one for kids.

For our annual subdivision garage sale, the girls and Ainsley set up their usual tables to sell all kinds of goodies. They did not make as much of a profit to split this year, but enough that they were happy to split everything equally and have some spending cash for the summer months ahead.

I set Jimmy up one morning with a fun project doing "salt painting."
I think that this summer is going to be filled with LOTS of fishing at our lake!
We stopped at the local greenhouse and Sophia talked me into purchasing a succulent for her room. It is in a snail-shaped pot and she affectionately named it, "Sally."

Another game on repeat around here lately has been chess. Jimmy is still figuring out the strategy of the game, and I love how patient Jack is with him when they are playing.

It is no secret how much I LOVE birthdays -- coming up with a "theme," the cake decorating, the picking out of gifts and the WRAPPING of the gifts. My niece loves snakes (much to my horror since I can't stand them!) and wanted to have a snake-themed birthday party this year.
Out of pure love for her, I decided to wrap her presents with a snake that I made from cutting out a paper plate, painting it and then winding it through the gifts. It turned out really cute and the look on her face when she saw it was so PRICELESS!
