We have a Christmas Countdown on our fridge. It's magnetic and Samantha gets the honor of choosing which magnet she would like to cover up the appropriate number as we countdown to Christmas.
Today, we made ANOTHER countdown -- it is the traditional red and green paper chain; the one where you tear off a link every night before bed. And then when there is one link left ... well, that's the night that Santa comes!
We did this project together while Sophia was sleeping, and Samantha was such a good helper.
She completely understands the concept of the chain, and is anxious to tear off her first link tonight before bed.
We have the chain proudly on display outside of her bedroom door (hanging from a hook). I have to admit that the chain does look really long right now, but I know that the next few weeks are going to fly by as I finish up my holiday shopping and wrap-up my Fall semester of teaching. Also, we have a lot of holiday plans, so the preparations for those are currently underway ...
