Pretty in Purple

Sophia's 4th birthday is coming up (unbelievable!), and in preparation for her birthday invitations, we did a quick "photo shoot" one morning.  It was very impromptu, but I am quickly learning that those sessions make for some of the most adorable pictures.  In fact, it was hard to narrow down just one photo for her invitation!

Sophia's smile is just so natural.  I LOVE taking her picture.

I asked for a smile for just a few pictures ...

... and then just let her do her own thing.  I love this picture of her looking at her toes -- with her purple high heels right next to her, of course.

 

The dress is actually leftover from Samantha's fairy birthday party over a year ago, and Sophia has now claimed it as her own.

This is the picture that I chose for the invitation.  I just loved the look of innocence on her face.

I couldn't help but smile at her beauty from behind the lens.  That girl can light up a room with her smile.

And a couple pictures with her "heels" on.  Somehow, this is how I imagine it will be when I am taking her picture before the prom.  She'll be all grown-up before I know it.

In less than two weeks, I will have a four-year old little girl.  We have a lot to celebrate in our house next weekend -- a friend birthday party (nine little girls!) and a family one too.  Sophia is definitely one very loved girl!
