Playing with our assortment of beach toys (some are old from last year and some are brand-new):
Yes, Sophia was pretty happy with the assortment:
Then, Steve carried out a gift for Sophia. It was a special present that Sam and him brought home from Grandma and Grandpa Lapinski's house earlier in the day.
It was her very own chair to sit in!
Sophia was pretty excited about it:
You see, Grandma and Grandpa bought a chair for Sam when she was right around this same age and it has gotten a lot of use. When Sam brought her old hippo chair out, we realized that the new one for Sophia is a little bigger.
So, the girls traded their chairs -- and they are the perfect sizes for each of them! Thank you, Grandma and Grandpa!
Then Sophia decided to "push" Samantha around on the tricycle that will soon be Sophia's:
Sophia won't be able to officially use the tricycle until next year, but she sure does love it:
And Sam practiced some cartwheels in the yard:

We took advantage of the sun yet again today and the girls spent some more time out in the yard.
Sophia played with her four-wheeler (gifted to us by my aunt and uncle):
She is so proud of herself:
And has now figured out that it has a button on it that she can push to make it advance forward:
The surprising part for us is that Little Sister (who doesn't really want to stand too much or even take any steps yet), had no problem climbing back on the four-wheeler, time and time again:
We were all so happy for her and offered lots of encouragement:
Sam loves the new flowers that are starting to bloom:

And finally, after dinner tonight we took the girls to the park downtown to burn off some excess energy before baths and bedtime.
Sam loves everything about that park, like the slides:
The jungle gym:
The swings:
And the rock wall:
And Sophia is starting to show an interest in the park, as well.
That's a good thing because I suspect that we will be spending quite a bit of time there this summer.
Trying out the slide with Daddy first:
And then being a "big girl" and doing it by herself (with a little bit of help):
She even tried climbing back up the slide by herself:

Overall, it was a very fun weekend for us as a family. We got a few things accomplished around the house, but still managed to fill our days with some fun activities. I really love how independent the girls are starting to become because it means that we will be able to do even more fun things as the Spring and Summer seasons progress!
