Halloween Gymnsatics

Before Halloween, Uncle Dennis and Aunt Deb paid for Samantha to attend a little gymnastics event at their gym.  It was a fun hour for her (and very similar to the gymnastics class that she took there two years ago -- which she still remembers, amazingly).  We went as a family and Sophia just watched from the sidelines for the first part of the event.  After that, when it was a little more "free style" for the kids, we let her partake.  She wasn't quite old enough to actually be a part of the event.

The kids were allowed to wear their Halloween costumes, but I opted to let Samantha just wear a Halloween shirt because I knew that she would be more comfortable.

On one of the rolling logs:

Crawling through one of the tunnels; this was one of her most favorite things to do there two years ago:

Practicing on the bar:

Sommersaults on the inflated tumbling mat:

And then we let Sophia loose!  She found these balancing cups and entertained herself for quite some time with them.

I had to do a little bit of distraction control with this decorated bar because she found humor in pulling all of the little pumpkins off of the garland.

Steve helped Sophia practice her sommersaults:

And he also assisted her on the rolling log:

At the very end, the kids were able to walk through a decorated tunnel and gather candy (three pieces each).  We let Sophia bring up the rear ...

She wasn't messing around!  She knew that she could score some candy and she took full advantage of that, carefully gathering her three pieces!

It was a great time for both of the girls and we are so glad that Aunt Deb suggested it.  It was the perfect prelude to our Halloween season ...
