A Few of Our Favorite Things

It has been a while since I last did a "favorite things" interview with the girls and with the upcoming holiday of love right around the corner, I figured that now would be a great time.  I started with Sophia, and I could hardly stifle a laugh as I watched her take her interview so seriously.  She sat in my office chair, prim and proper, and answered every single question in a complete sentence.  For example, when asked what her favorite color was, she replied ... in the most grown-up voice ever, "Ah, my favorite color is purple.  And pink too."

Sophia (almost 3 years old)

Favorite color: Purple and pink (Yes, I knew this)

Favorite toy: Her guitar (Technically it is Sam's but she sure does love it lately)

Favorite TV show:  Little Einsteins

Favorite food: Macaroni and cheese (This is requested more times than I can count in a single week)

Favorite animal: Lovey (I nearly fell out of my chair; Lovey is her sacred, well-treasured blanket that she sleeps with and it is a frog.  Way to think outside of the box, Sophia)

Favorite song: Row, Row Row Your Boat

Best Friend: Jack (melt my heart ...)

Favorite drink: Cider (Yup, good thing we get a good deal on this liquid; Sophia would keep the orchard in business just by her sales alone)

Favorite thing to do outside: Play in the snow (Geesh, we've done a lot of that this winter)

Favorite breakfast: eggs (That girl can throw down some eggs, especially the ones that her Daddy makes)

Favorite thing about Sam:  Hugging her (Those girls sure do hug a lot)

Favorite thing about Jack: Playing with him (Now that Jack can sit up on his own and interact, the girls have really enjoyed playing with him more)

Favorite thing about Daddy:  He always gives me hugs and kisses (Awwww ...)

Favorite thing about Momma: She always tucks me in bed each night (This is true.  Even on the nights that I teach, I still check on the girls before I go to bed).

Favorite dessert:  Cupcakes with gummy worms on top (I made dirt cupcakes for Sam's school recently and Sophia hasn't forgotten!)

What she wants to be when she grows up: A teacher, like Momma.

Samantha (5 years old)

Favorite color: Green (Always and forever ...)

Favorite toy: Doc McStuffins set (Santa sure knew what he was doing when he brought that to her this last Christmas; it is used every. single. day. in this house!)

Favorite TV show:  Gaspar and Lisa

Favorite food: Grilled peanut butter and jelly (Steve recently introduced the girls to this delicacy and Sam loves it.  She also knows that Steve's mom is the one that taught him how to make them!)

Favorite animal: My fish (in the aquarium)

Favorite song: The Littlest Duck (It's on a CD that I have in the kitchen and it is requested a lot)

Best Friend: Anna

Favorite drink: Orange juice (What can I say, my girls love juice!)

Favorite thing to do outside: Play soccer

Favorite breakfast: Toast (That's Momma's favorite thing too)

Favorite thing about Sophia:  She plays with me ... a lot (Yes, they are practically inseparable)

Favorite thing about Jack: His head is so soft and he smiles at me (Sam can make him smile more than anyone; it's adorable)

Favorite thing about Daddy:  He flips me over (Steve is a little more "hands-on" than I am!)

Favorite thing about Momma: She makes me nice breakfasts (... yes, and lunches ... and dinners ...)

Favorite dessert:  Dirt pudding like I had for my birthday (Apparently my "dirt desserts" have won the girls over!)

What she wants to be when she grows up: A teacher just like my momma.
