Last week was Teacher Appreciation Week, so I wanted to do something special to show Samantha's teachers (Mrs. Nichols and Miss Spitzer) just how much we have appreciated them this year. I saw an idea online and decided to "run with it."
I had some mason jars down in the basement, so I cleaned up two of them and put Sophia to work separating some letter magnets. I cut the top off of two water bottles and slid one into each of the jars. The water bottle would serve as the vase for some fresh-cut flowers and the letters would create a decorative border around the water bottles.
I bought one bouquet of bright, fresh flowers (on sale during the week of Mother's Day) and separated the flowers into the two vases. I hot-glued a faux flower onto a wooden skewer with a small clothespin and attached a gift card to the flower.
I printed a tag on my computer ("Thanks for helping Samantha bloom") and punched it out in the shape of a flower. I then attached it to a bow on the front and left them out for Samantha to find when she got up from her nap. She loved them! And she loved taking them to her teachers the next day (pointing out every last little detail ...)!
Teachers have a special place in my heart ... and I love showing them our appreciation whenever I have a chance.
