We had perfect seats (just to the left of home plate, about 30 rows up) and were happy that the rain held off for the whole game. There was a little misting, but nothing worth leaving our seats for. I do wish that it was a little warmer though; it was only about 50 degrees. And of course, it would have been nice if the Tigers had won, but they were playing the Yankees and I had already prepared myself for a loss ...
Posing with the mascot, Paws. He was dressed in his Polish gear, as it was Polish-American night at the game. As you can see, I was dressed with a hooded sweatshirt and my winter coat to make sure that I stayed warm (which I did).
After the game, Steve posed in front of the new, very large, scoreboard. It is pretty impressive.
Even though we were a little chilly, we stayed to watch the fireworks right afer the game. They were spectacular!
It was nice to be able to do this, but I did miss the girls a little bit. My mom was gracious enough to watch them for us, and I know that they had a pretty good time themselves getting spoiled by Grammy. We hope to be able to take Sam to a Lansing Lugnuts game this summer; she seems to really want to see a baseball game in person now. The Lansing Lugnuts are a Single A team that play about 30 minutes from our house. We figure that it would be a good start for her -- there won't be quite as many people there, and we'll get a better idea just how long she will stay entertained.
super nice pics !
